GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

SPECIFICATIONS

​

  • Contributions are invited in the forms  of paper presentation or workshop.

  • The content must be related to conference themes.

  • The conference working language is English.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

​


ABSTRACT FORMAT AND PROCEDURES

​

  • Abstracts should be 150-200 words.

  • The abstract includes  title of the paper, author’s  and co-author’s name, author’s affiliation, abstract, and keywords.

  • Together with the abstract, the presenter’s bio-data (80 words) must be attached.

  • Presenters wishing to present in a language other than English must specify the language of their oral presentation.

  • Abstracts will be anonymously reviewed.

  • After the abstract is accepted, presenters will be invited to submit a full paper to be considered for publication in selected journals. Submission is by (insert day here).


FULL PAPER FORMAT

  • The full paper should be about 10-12 pages in length including appendix.

  • The paper must contain the following parts:  title of paper, author’s name, author’s affiliation, abstract, keywords, introduction, literature review, research design (or other subheadings), results and discussion, conclusion, reference, appendix (if any), and the author’s bio-data.

  • The full paper is recommended to be written in English. Below is the attachment for SiLK 2021 Full Paper Template.

GUIDELINEAUTHORS

ONLINE ARTICLE PRESENTATION

  • The presenter must record a presentation video using Loom or PowerPoint or any other platform like YouTube and the like. The length should be about 10 minutes. The presentation slides must contain the presenter together with the presenter’s voice (either motion pictures or illustrations on the presentation slides are acceptable).

  • The video must begin with a self-introduction including the following information:

    • Name and surname;

    • Position and organization (if any);

    • Article’s name; and

    • Meeting’s name, host, and date.

 

Example:

My name is (name and surname). I’m (position and organization (if any). I’d like to present to you (article/abstract’s name) at The Symposium of International Languages and Knowledge (SiLK2021) on November 11, 2021, hosted by Centre for Liberal Sciences, Faculty of Applied & Human Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).

  • The presenter must use the video presentation template specified by the meeting’s organizer which can be downloaded via (UPLOAD LOOM/PPTX PRESENTATION/GOOGLE DRIVE/YOUTUBE)

  • After completion, please name the video presentation as ‘Presenter’s name_Article’s name’. For example, [Bazli_Creating a graphic work for online learning lesson.]

  • The presenter must upload the video on Google Drive or YouTube and set it as ‘unlisted’ before submitting the access link to the organizer by Oct 20, 2021 via Google Form https://forms.gle/cjthYHibmYG7FbWf8 or email silkpsl21@gmail.com.

  • The presenter must join the presentation via Google Meet meeting on November 11, 2021. The video will be shown to experts so they can provide critique on each topic. Therefore, the presenter must be online and be prepared for their inquiries. The presenter can also watch other presenters’ presentations and Q&A sessions for reference.

  • An organizer will send you a link to join the meeting, schedule, and meeting room’s ID via email by Nov 8, 2021, so please install GoogleMeet at https://apps.google.com/meet/ and learn how to use the program in advance in order to join this online meeting.

  • Please dress properly both during recording the video and joining the online meeting via GoogleMeet on Nov 11, 2021.

  • For those who would like to request for a graduation certificate or an academic position, please check the conditions and required documents with your institute or organization again. However, we will issue the following documents for you:

    • An acceptance letter

    • A certificate to certify your participation in the meeting
